Metocean Expert Americas is the result of a new industry with a lot to be excited about. Based on experience as a metocean lead at Avangrid and ongoing research between industry and academia, MEA aims to build a common foundation for oceanographic best practices for operational and extreme conditions around American offshore energy installations.

Sarah McElman has managed metocean buoy, FLiDAR, and other measurement campaigns across the US and Europe, in addition to leading the metocean dimensions of new business, development, and operational preparedness. Prior to working for a developer, Sarah was a computational modeler at a number of international consultancies (waves and fluid dynamics). Her metocean career began through collaboration between the floating offshore wind team at the University of Maine and the Dutch TO2 institutes.
